step 1.

In a large bowl with a mixer, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract. Beat until combined.

step 2.

Gradually mix in the flour and salt until combined. Mix in a few drops of food coloring if desired.

step 3.

Fit the cookie press with a decorative metal plate and scoop some of the cookie dough into the press. Press the cookies out onto a baking sheet.

step 4.

Add sprinkles or sanding sugar to the cookies. Bake each tray of cookies for 7-10 minutes at 350F.

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire cooling rack. Decorate with icing if desired and enjoy!
